yeah, just read it today, its very very lame, no imagination, no creativity. might have to face the fact that the days of creative cosmic writting is well and truly over.

what did you think of the thor vs surfer, seemed to me that thor was more aggressive than usual and surfer was holding back trying to reason with thor. Also since when did thor start using cuss words...he calls surfer a 'silver bastard'

always a sign of bad writting and lack of imagination with curse words start being used.

I think cursing has its place in writing, so that doesn’t bother me. Thor being very out of character bothers me. But Fraction has made a very conscious decision to write Thor as Thornan the Barbarian, an uncouth foul-mouthed bad-ass who is short-tempered, hungry for sex, and apparently willing to kill. Personally, I liked Thor as the noble warrior who held respect for all and only killed as a last resort much better.

Agree. Although noble Thor still likes a little something-something. He just is more of a gentleman about it. Which honestly makes things more interesting IMO. I too much prefer honorable and noble Thor. The guy that if you piss him off to the point that he wants to kill you than you have done something so horrible that not a soul would defend you.

I really wish, and not sure if others agree, but if I had to pick modern writters of telling this story I would go with Oeming or Gillen. Both have shown a fairly good ability with all of the above happening in MT and doing a fine job. I know just a fans hope and no more but we can all dream.

In any case, I think we'll see far more fireworks next issue with both Odin/Galactus and Thor/Surfer getting much more physical. I'll still get it if only for Coipel's art. Fraction writes Iron Man well, but his Thor is weak (writing-wise).
