I actually amnot a fan of that presentation. Not that Thanos is not powerful but Surfer during that part of the run was treated like a chump by Starlin. He always really was.

I do not think anybody needs to be treated that way exactly for things to come accross. In comics, he is already one of the top villains and his issue is more overexposure. He still largely has more good showings than bad.

In the Thanos series, Thanos has god cancer and still fights the whole imperial guard for an extended period of time. And Infinity no sold nearly everybody.
