Step 3: My vision of the character.

What I would like to get is not easy for the writers and designer, I am aware of.

      * I would cease that to always give a human form to Galactus, I will try to infuse this totally "other" aspect of this entity. This was done once timidly in StormBreaker Saga 2005 where Beta Bill Ray sees an indistinct form slowly transform into the Galactus that we know. Wouaou is new I had thought at the time.

Actually, Galactus doesn't have human form. This notion didn't arise with Stormbreaker, but with John Byrne's The Trial of Galactus story arc wherein every alien race saw Galactus in a form of that race.

      * Galactus should be the incarnation of a VIS Canis majoris level star. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6Nc6h-03ew). A level out of proportion with all things known. We saw a glimpse in the arc of the annihilation wave where the Galactus’ rage explodes sweeping planets. That simple :GALACTUS IS NOT A GIANT HUMAN OF FLESH AND BLOOD WHICH CAN BE DEVOURED BY ZOMBIES !!

    Quote:
I agree that Galactus should not be able to be devoured by zombies, but I disagree that Galactus should be at a level that makes him unassailable. That would defeat his story purpose as all planets would fall to him.

All did before Earth. I agree that it is a careful balance though. He needs to be insanely powerful and beyond most things but the hunger is what makes him dangerous and weak at the same time.

Given exposure, it is hard, but driving off Galactus should be one of the major feats that is exceedingly rare. At times in history I think this can be a bit lost. As Earth drives him off in various ways. It is nice to see perspective given by events in things like Stormbreaker or Nova.

Really, the Marvel zombie thing was strange. One would expect Galactus to just incinerate the lot of them without too much effort.

      * His hunger must not be like mortals the need to regain energies but simply the expression of his curse and his role. Devouring a planet should not the condition of his power but just be an obligation to be in accord with its nature. No more depletion of his power !!

    Quote:
Again, I disagree. Galactus should have a weakness to allow him to be defeated and his hunger is his weakness. Otherwise, you either have Galactus in a role as an unbeatable villain who regularly commits genocide or as a hero who overcomes any threat instantly. How interesting would that be?

Yes, but he also must still pose a threat that is worthy. If everybody can beat or drive him off than he loses everything too.

I actually have liked the Lifebringer angle more than I thought I would. It is nice to see the character act to help the universe in a direct way and maintain grandeur along the way.
