Quote:Yeah, that hurt him quite a bit. I mean he has not really interacted with a ton of mythical gods as such other than Thor. And even when he has battled Odin or Thor with the OF in the past the two were close in power. Maybe an edge to Galactus. An amped Zeus downed Galactus but Galactus was surprised by that. Again, amped.
Quote:The origin change was terrible. The being humiliated by having your power drained and so on was bad too.
Quote:I think Galactus losing to a King Thor is not inherently bad, but it was an amped Galactus and it was not a fight at all. At least with Aaron the big fights were back and forth for a while before somebody won most of the time.
Quote:Not to mention the bad story telling. I am not sure why you build a threat and then a given mission for that many books. Set up a team up and then neuter your threat and undermine your plot in a moment.
I'd argue a "normal" Galactus looked quite a bit above Odin in Fraction's story.
They entered a mental struggle which Odin seemingly lost, Odin dumped all of his power into a surprise headbutt and KO'd himself in the process. Galactus may have been either dazed or KO'd by the headbutt but he gets up and reassembles his helmet without a scratch while Odin flat out admitted the he "lacked the strength to continue braining that monster" while still unable to stand on his own some time after Galactus already left.
That fight honestly didn't read like a fight of peers at all.
Exactly what I’ve always said.
Galactus was not even given the opportunity to throw his own blows or attacks and still won in less than 5 minutes.
That is not peer like at all.
This Thor book was utterly stupidity and I cancelled all things Thor after witnessing this
over the top display of fanboy fanatismo.
