If it was deliberate then y'make a fair point - the intent would then be good - to get the readers to anticipate the possibility that things turn out much better they did.

Not a knock at the creative effort resulting just the decision to go against tradition to have the title credits over actual story material, instead of recycled bio/headshots, as DC has always entertainingly done and with all the other titles in my longboxes.
