Quote:Tossing in spoiler tag as precaution
Quote:1. Hunter Zolomon
This is the most likely option since Hunter is Zoom in the comics. If it is Hunter, don't expect him to have much in common with the comics version of the character since many of the things that made Hunter Zolomon into the character he is were used for Dr. Wells and Eddie Thawne in season 1.
If Hunter is Zoom, I predict he won't be seen until mid-season at the earliest. Why? Because the writers aren't stupid and they know that if they introduce Hunter Zolomon, they are pretty much admitting he's Zoom. So, if it is Hunter then they will introduce him later on so it's as much of a surprise as possible.
If it is Hunter, then it's puzzling why they are stealing from Wally West's rogues when Barry has plenty of his own.
Quote:2. earth 2 Henry Allen, possible but not likely. John Wesley Shipp did state in an interview that he really did not want to wear the hot and uncomfortable costume again. But he could have been joking and money does talk.
I doubt this as well.
Quote:3. Earth 2 Barry Allen. An even greater threat then Reverse Flash would be Barry himself
Possible. Grant Gustin might enjoy playing a villain for a change. But this would be cliché and a bit boring.
Quote:4. Earth 2 Harrison Wells, possible, or he may become an ally to Earth 1
Doubtful. It's more than likely he will travel to Earth Prime (Earth-1) and become an Ally. Not at first, but eventually. Plus, he was already used as the villain in season 1 so I can't imagine he will be used again in season 2.
Quote:5. Someone we have not met yet that may not be Hunter Zolomon
And it's entirely possible that Zoom is simply...Zoom...And has no secret identity. In my Review of the episode, I have theorized that Zoom seems like an Amalgam of Hunter Zolomon's Zoom and the Black Flash. The monstrous face leads me to believe this. If I am right, then that makes Zoom more of a force of nature rather than a man with superspeed, which is essentially what Black Flash is. Add on top of that he wants to be the ONLY one with Superspeed and kill anyone else with Superspeed, I think my theory is starting to have merit. What does Black Flash do? Kill those with Superspeed because Black Flash is the grim reaper when it comes to speedsters.
It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
