Another thing I took away from all this is I think Julian, the metahuman specialist, is a disguised Reverse Flash. Funny how he alone can't stand Barry Allen and Barry innately hates him too.

I'm hoping Julian is a nobody. He's just a work colleague who really dislikes Barry. If I knew Barry I would dislike him too. He's a total flake. He throws himself a pity party every other episode. He places his desires over others (RIP Sara Diggle and Dante Ramone). He never learns his lesson. He can't keep a secret which got everyone killed by Vandal Savage last yer. He did that creepy thing last season where he imprisoned his earth 2 self, hit on his wife, got her father killed and kept the dude locked up so he could comfort Iris 2.

I don't want this Julian guy to be a hero or a villain. I want him to be the guy that tells Barry he's a jerk...because he totally is. Someone in the universe needs to have the duty to tell Barry how completely awful he is. So far to me everything Julian has done has been sensible albeit rude...everyone else drinks the koolaid that Barry is great. Barry will destroy the universe to get what he wants then he'll just leave it broken...even after he's already learned not to time travel in season 1.

Just banter or little hints being sprinkled for the big reveal?

I know he would work just as well as a regular guy but I have this feeling that RF is having to keep an eye on Barry and what better way then as a work colleague, especially one that Barry would never suspect because he thinks the guy is an a-hole who seemingly has no powers.

I don't think the writers have purposely set out to make Barry a jerk but is kind of coming across as one who just can't learn his lesson.

Maybe this time Barry will have finally learned this lesson and the writers will stop rehashing the same plot.
