The news is a little old by now, but CW has released their official promotional glimpse for 'The Present' which is to be the ninth episode of The Flash this season.

Barry seeks help from Jay (The Flash) Garrick — With Alchemy and Savitar still looming threats, Barry (Grant Gustin) is unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton). Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp). Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to help Barry fight Savitar and reveals that he’s been training with H.R. (Tom Cavanagh), which doesn’t go over well with Barry. As Cisco (Carlos Valdes) faces his first Christmas without his brother Dante (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez), old wounds are reopened. Rachel Talalay directed the episode with story by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing and teleplay by Lauren Certo (FL309). Original airdate 12/6/2016

I do like the promised appearance from Jay Garrick as he was swiftly grown on me thanks to the charisma and understated skill of John Wesley Shipp, but thhere is some frustration in that this looks to be not much more than another coffee bar chat... I yearn for something more meaningful than a two-minute drop by.
Savitar... another evil speedster plot. I have no complaint over the use of Savitar but the repetition of plotlines and characters is reaching a worrying high,...

Think that Jay should be made a team regular, and that they were better off keeping Reverse Flash around...

How can the RF be changing time lines over in Legends not be affecting Flash?
