Barry is a scientist that works with other scientists and they try to build gadgets and weapons that don't always work, and for all of Barry's vaunted speed, he is still the Coyote running at fast speed and then gaping in astonishment as RF or Zoom or Savitar put on that turbo boost and leave him behind.

And then Barry gets faster and beats them. ;\-\)

I suppose, in some ways, the 3 seasons of Flash feel like that famous cartoon. For me, though, I look at the start of season 2, and onward, and very little of the shows makes any kind of sense whatsoever because of the screwed up way the shorwunners chose to introduce time travel. Worse, the the shorrunners have shown a complete inability to manage good time travelling stories without introducing one or more time paradoxes. And then, to make matters even worse, these time paradoxes are rarely addressed and on the rare occasions that they are addressed, the explanation isn't very plausible at all and downright laughable.

I know all time traveling shows that feature this trope have it's problems, but I must point out that other shows have dealt with the theme of time travel a million times better than the Flash. Unfortunately, the showrunners are so focused on a telling a story, they throw out any, and all, logic when it comes to telling a time traveling story or creating the latest time remnant. This leaves much to be desired and the audience is left trying to understand what it all means.

I fear the showrunners are digging an ever deeper hole for themselves and if they don't do a much needed course correction, they will find the Flash being cancelled.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
