> It starts off with Pym and Hill at a compound in Arizona with a group of new "heroes" named after Greek Gods, including a Hurcules but not Cap's friend.
And, lemme guess, these new heroes will be called...The Champions!
Anyone else find it kinda ironic how DC, in 52, is showing that it takes more than a name, a costume and some powers to be a superhero (with the Everyman Project and Infinity, Inc.) and yet Marvel is just showing us they can make new heroes out of names, costumes and some powers?
> Reed is still working on Clor's brain.
> Punisher climbs through the vents of FF Plaza in a dampening suit and steals the info for Prison 42.
Which we will see repeated in detail (and probably written better) in Punisher: War Journal #2!
> Invisible Woman then goes to Namor as asks for his help, but he denies her.
I hope he throws in a, "Yeah, and that's for leaving me the second we found Reed in an alternate timeline, ya ho!" - I mean, seriously, it's only fair that he should kick her behind to the curb at some point.
> Back at the Secret Avengers compound as they look over the "42 compound" info they are interupted by villains Goldbug and the Plunderer. They want to join Caps side... So the Punishers puts the machine guns to them. Cap flips out and kicks Franks a$$, while no one else seems to care there were two people killed right infront of them.
John Stewart (Green Lantern 2814.2) was said to have stopped wearing his mask because it hides his emotions, and he didn't want that. I'd love to be an MU superhero with a mask, because I just KNOW I'd be snickering when Castle blew those two throwaways, uh, away.
> Ms Sharp is seen again with Tony in his new garden dedicated to the killed children.
Will they finally reveal next issue that she was an LMD sent by Nick Fury?
> Uatu the Watcher asks Dr. Strange why he doesn't take a side. He says he doesn't see one side as being negative, he just hopes the one with the least amount of blood shed wins.
I'd like to reiterate what another poster said - this should have been the message the entire series gave the readers, not a character.
> Cap's team breaks through the 42 portal only to be told it was a trap set by Stark. The yare outnumbered. Cap tells him he knew about his spy (Tigra) but states he has a spy of his own. Pym takes off his mask, but then morphs into Hulkling. He had let out all of the detainies so no the fight is fair.
Wow. Wonder when ol' Hulkling had the chance to sneak by as Yellowjacket. Crafty. Now I wonder how in hell they can all use the gateway to 42 when it was supposed to be specially configured for each new superhuman entry.
> To be Concluded!
They expect us to believe that? The next issue will end with an inconclusive fight where Spidey, Cap and company escape 42 while Tony and the others go off to lick their wounds, but neither side conclusively wins (though a handful of people no one at Marvel cares about may die).
And then we'll have them all fight each other for another year (thus giving us more Civil War, but without McNiven) or less, and then - boom - World War Hulk will bring them all together and they'll have a "Batman and the League within the League" type relationship, where they're on the same side, but can't ever trust each other.
There was a time I'd take my comparisons from the Marvel Universe into DCU discussions.

Lamest Catchphrase EVER: "Rust never sleeps, Bro. And neither does The Griffin!" - The Griffin...good riddance!
"To see Watchmen and only see the grim and grittiness is to miss the point." - Bat-Mite (the poster)
"One of the people at Marvel said I worked with your father when he was at DC. I said, "My father was a steelworker, baby." That couldn't have been, they said. You're in your mid-20s. I was 13, that was me, I said." - Jim Shooter: The Man Kicked @$$!
"Yeah, well, him says even though Pippy Longstocking and the damn Grape Ape are ideal candidates for the Dirty Dozen -- I'm just going to say we might just want to bring the Red Beret." - Sawyer (from Lost)
