http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=9914CBR:One thing that's been going around today was discussion of a sequence in "Civil War: The Initiative" where there was some talk that Cap was still alive. Can you address that for our readers? JQ:I have not read the actual panels that were published, but the truth of the matter is it's a discussion between Ms. Marvel and Spider-Woman or something like that - and I'm about to SPOIL "THE INITIATIVE" STORY for everybody right here, right now, so stop reading if you don't want to know - but what Ms. Marvel is trying to do is she's trying to trap Spider-Woman. She's actually giving her mis-information, none of that is true, but it is an element of the story that eventually gets revealed later on in the story. SPOILER OVER And from Newsarama: http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=104091 Comments from Ms. Marvel in this week’s Civil War: The Initiative, which seemed to indicate that Captain America is still alive, and being held prisoner by the Pro-Registration forces may not have been exactly what they seemed on the surface, and events related to those comments will play out in upcoming issues of New Avengers -BMK!-

Firstly: If Marvel has truely chosen to kill one of it's GREATEST if not the greatest and most Iconic characters in this pathetic fashion then I have to say shame on you to them. Here's a character that was around BEFORE Marvel, the symbol of America. Can he die? Sure, in a good story. But like this, assassinated while going to trial for crimes against the country and freedoms he stands for? Horrible.
On the backside, JQ spins stuff, and by stuff I mean something I can't say here. I hope to all that's holy and good it's just another lie, a piece of info leaked and not caught by editorial staff. Because it not only saves Marvel from the shame of ending the fictitious career of an american legend under such shameful circumstances, but that particular piece of interaction between Carol and Jessica (who ARE good friends and I don't buy it for an instant that she was lieing to her)proved to me that another character whom Marvel is grooming as an icon, Ms Marvel, has a true heroic heart and isn't willing to stoop to the means justifying the ends level of Stark whom she's most obviously at odds with.
Maybe I enjoyed the latest JLA so much because I don't hear all the behind the scenes stuffola. I REALLY liked that Initiative preview (save for the T-Bolts crap, they need to eat hot Nova death in the near future) until JQ had to say that stuff and deface a couple characters for me.
