Disgrunted one:
I don't mind change, but you have to admit that this thing looks, in retrospect, like it was thrown together!
If you are gonna kill Cap (a BIG EVENT) why not do it in Civil War.
If you are gonna kill Thor - why not tie it into something, other than a overly shortened run in his own book.
If Iron Man is gonna turn - then why not drop clues or make it gradual turn. Heck, in 1 or 2 quicky issues, he went from pal-O-Cap to a lying jerk.
If you are gonna bring Captain Marvel back - his death being a cornerstone of Marvel storytelling - why bring him back in a one-shot - why not build it up.
that is why is seems like car-crash T.V. - just kinda thrown together.

See, they were in a no win situation with this one. They kill Cap in Civil War, than some Captain America fans would be pissed because it didn't happen in his own title. They would feel cheated that they had to buy an extra issue. They did the right thing. Why is it no win? Now there are fans that are complaining that they bought a 7 issue mini-series and what looks to be the big payoff came in another title. Some feel cheated about those 7 issues. I repeat, Marvel did the right thing by having such an important event happening in that characters title.

Can't comment on Thor. I didn't even now he was dead, again, until Civil War came out.

Iron Man, to me, has always been a selfish lying jerk. That is just my opinion based on the brief time I spent with the character. He beat up his best friend to further his own goals\vendetta during the Armour Wars.

If the build up was too long, people would call that story too long. "I remember the good old days when a character would die, be buried and resurrected all in the span of 3 pages... now we got the year long event of Captain Marvels return... bah!".
