Previous Post There's a LOT of super-powered peeps in the MU. There's enough floating around to give each state it's own team of protectors. Should there be a massive War? Not hero vs hero over some ideology, but some true threat to the planet a-la Annihilation wave that cuts the population of the super powered types on earth severely. Maybe a threat so great that 'villains' would join the anti and pro fighters to beat back the total destruction of their home world. Something that would do more than change the laws in the MU America, but something that would totally and completely change the face of the MU world. Big names would fall, maybe new champions would emerge. With this 'movement towards realism', which is just another pick and choose of what'll be 'realistic' and what isn't, should the overpopulation of superhumans be addressed? They did with the Mutants, would it make the super heroes seem more special and unique if there weren't 10 others standing around the corner waiting to take their place the instant they fall? Was the MU more interesting when super powered beings were a rare minority and not commonplace? "I don't think there's such a thing as a hero. As long as it comes nowhere near as big as the cleansing of the mutant sector, I might be down for it. I really think Marvel went way too far with the Decimation, and now the mutant sector seems anemic.

I tend to disagree with "big names" dying in events like this, because it's way too gimmicky to me.
