As long as it comes nowhere near as big as the cleansing of the mutant sector, I might be down for it. I really think Marvel went way too far with the Decimation, and now the mutant sector seems anemic.
I tend to disagree with "big names" dying in events like this, because it's way too gimmicky to me.
