As a consumer I think it's a great idea and would definitely check out more new titles if this were the case. However, after everyone gets paid I wonder how much of a loss the publisher would take with each new title. If a title is successful, over the long run you'd see a return on investment. But the books would all start with having a deficit cost to make up, which could up the "minimum circulation survival number" for the books.

I wonder how much a single issue of a comic actualy costs the publisher?

Just my 0.02,

Jon

With one single title at 1 dollar they promote at least four new series. So for a costumer you can get a preview at all those books and then decided wich one u want to try. Then when those books comes out, they cost the same as any other book, but they already had a sort of fan base.

Marvel does something similar every month with the Marvel Previews, but the content it is only the covers and solicits plus some previews that you can get anyway on any comics related website. However, as the paper is of good quality, it is still a good deal for just 99 cents.
