Parts 1 and 2 make sense....except when has Marvel every realy cared who was 'really dead'? Any time they've wanted to resurrect someone, why, Up They Come Out Of The Ground, 1-2-3, from Dr. Doom to the Mandarin to Magneto to Jean Grey to Norman Osborn to far, far 'lesser lights' than the likes of them.
And that's been going on for decades and decades. How would explaining away all the dead and/or revived as Skrulls make it any more realistic, believable, dramatic, or exciting?, or simply even 'fix' anything?
The Jack of Hearts who died under Johns was a skrull....so what? When Dorma died in the 70s she was a skrull...so what? When Marrina died she was a skrull..so what? And same is true of Captain Marvel, Red Raven, the second Jester, the first Owl (who just 'died' in NA), Bucky, Zemo 1, Yellowjacket II....etc.
As far as the mutant problem, House of M and M Day have been a fiasco in my opinion, since 1,000,000 boring mutants are certainly more boring as 1,000,000 boring now-human beings than they were as mutants. Those events certainly didn't unclutter the MU Proper in any appreciable way.
For M Day to have been interesting, all those excess mutants would have had to have vanished off the face of the earth and to 'now' never have existed. And look how many boring and repellant ones they left 'powered.'
Point # 3 has never been a pressing problem. Natasha certainly had vigilante characteristics, but sided right away with Tony's side.
Point # 4...what? I don't think the Kree-Skrull War needed an aftermath, nor did the Beyonder need to be dummied down to a mutant Inhuman....if in fact he is now. The Illiminati were no sooner 'revealed' than they began to fight, figuratively and literally, and that's Bendis for you.
Clearly, there have been all kinds of chaos-bringing disasters in the MU over the years, and the 'Illuminai' have done little, if anything, about any of them: they certainly were able to prevent or stop very few ('that at least we know of...'). I doubt they'll stick around as a concept. They're just another Bendis idea badly executed.
> More believable mutants and mutant population...ie House of M
> Clarification on who is dead and who is alive....ie skrull Invasion
> Definitive line between vigilante hero and regulated hero....ie Civil War
> Streamlining the history of Marvel Universe while de-canonizing inconsistancies and loose-ends....ie New Avengers Iluminatti
> At the end of this Marvel "Crisis" we will be losing 7 to 9 heroes or main characters (presumably those that are already dead and replaced by Skrull), and many B stringers will be back in the game for more of a "hero" universe instead of a mutant universe.
> thoughts, ideas???? Is this just a rumor? or is there any TRUTH to it?
