That's why I liked Brian Reed's take on the Puppet Master in MS. MARVEL #18-20. Masters realized how dumb it was to keep going after the FF with the same old plots and always get defeated every time. So he moved to Chile and started his people trafficking business, where no hero would be around to stop him. Or so he thought.

That's a good example, there are other villains who should consider trying new things. Like the Controller, he knows who Stark is, so he can upgrade his mind control tech to create mind control nano bots, instead of relying on kind control discs. He can gain control of key people in Stark Enterprises and loot the compnay from the inside out.
