***Marvel has finally hit the nail on the head with what I want from a current comic book. Something that has at least a little realism with characters that speak and act like real people, but at the same time give you the ever so frequent hypothetical question...Why can't there be super heroes in the real world? In K-A, you see conversations almost all of us have had(Galactus in the F4 movie), hell there is even mention of comic book message boards(no doubt we had something to do with that \:\) ) We then see exactly why people should'nt try to be super heroes, and that is what captures me. You have to know what happens next. Millar brings you into a world not to unlike our own, but also brings you into something that might have crossed your mind in a dream or 2 and that is where his talent shines through. KICK-ASS is just that...Kick ass!!

Great review, DM!
I saw the ad for this in WWH #5 and thought, "here we go. this will be the end of traditional story telling, and from now on it'll be just garbage storytelling."
I was dead wrong.
I wasn't going to get the first issue. I was SO opposed to it. I saw it on the shelf, and before I knew it, it was mine.
I read it tonight, and gosh-darn it, it's KICK-ASS!
