CBR has an interview with Millar about 1985, which is basically the villains from Secret War finding the real Earth in 1985 and invading the helpless with nothing but Marvel Savvy kids knowing their weaknesses. I found this final quote pretty funny, since the situation he describes is greatly due to his participation in the MU more than anything else \:\)

"I think it's coming along at exactly the right time because right now superheroes are all fairly cynical and controversial. They're all fighting each other and have some unlikable traits," Millar continued. "And there's something very pure about this. It really reminds you of the comics of your childhood without being old fashioned. Because you're seeing them done in a whole new way it makes you remember why you love Marvel Comics. It's terrifying, but it's also heartwarming; quite an unusual change of pace for me."

I thought the tender and warmer parts of Kick-Ass were the change of pace? Methinks Millar may be a softy at heart \:\)

Well, I've come to accept that Millar will say anything to sell the product even if it includes a slight dig at the end result of his previous work.

That being said, I'm probably going to check this mini out, at least the first couple of issues. While I have no desire to harken back to the warm and fuzzy days of when my fandom was at it's peak, the basic premise of the story(Goonies reference aside...ugh-hated that movie) sounds entertaining. I'm assuming the villains get back from the Battleworld before finding this gateway to "our" Earth because I don't recall the Red Skull or Vulture being part of the villain group in Secret Wars.

I'm curious as to how this resourceful group of kids stop the villain invasion simply because they know the "secrets" of the villains. Heck, the heroes in the Marvel Universe know half their secrets and they have trouble stopping them.
