I realize that everyone's tests will vary a bit, but I actually dislike anything by Bendis (which is most of the Marvel Universe these days), I am not enjoying Warren Ellis' treatment of the Thunderbolts, and I do not really like Brubaker on Cap (at least not since he killed Steve Rogers anyway). Oh and what started as an interesting homage was turned weird and almost unreadable (in my opinion) by Jonathan Lethem.

Well, I agree on these two, but I would add the two you disliked--Peter David and Dan Slott. I'm also enjoying Joe Casey on Defenders, and I tend to like most of Straczynski's material.

So, that's four dislikes and six likes, which means that my Marvel purchases are increasing a bit. Oh, and I'm liking Avengers: Initiative more lately myself. Let us know what you thought!

On a related question (but one that wasn't asked), who are the writers you would like to see at Marvel?

Me, I'd love to see Roger Stern, Kurt Busiek, Fabian Niecieza (or however you spell it!), Mark Waid, and Christopher Priest back. But I am old school, so I realize I am probably a minority here. Oh well, your mileage may vary!
