Reply Subj: Re: Protagonists who used to be criminals who reformed-this excludes characters actually introduced as villains Posted: Sun Jun 29, 2008 at 08:53:05 am EDT
Luke Cage. His origin involves him being experimented on while in prison. Others that I can think of: Strikeforce Moritiuri (This is a fairly obscure series from the 80s in which soldiers, and some prisoners were experimented on to give them powers to fight off an alien invasion, but the process eventually killed them.) Wolverine (He has to have been a criminal in there at some point. The guy is over 200 years old!) Suicide Squad, obviously, but I don't know if all of the characters for that series were old characters of if there were any created expressly for it. Hal Jordan - Emerald Dawn II had him in prison for a DUI. Kind of weak, but it's still there. Not sure if this has been retconned. I hated this story, so I hope it has been. John Rambo, The A-Team: Both were military fugitives. It could be argued that Rambo was introduced as a villain.
