Never heard of Ben Grimm dropping out of high school. And the bios I've seen of him don't mention it. So to me, that part of the character didn't happen.

I think Ben and Reed (and Doom) all entered college at the same time as freshmen and at the same age. They all went to "smart" school. Ben, while being bright enough to get accepted, got their on a football scholarship. Graduates at 22 with his b.s. and he also did ROTC. Becomes a pilot, stays in the Air Force for a few years, gets out around 28, spends a few years with Reed, takes the cosmic flight at 30.

Reed went to college at 18 so that he could have a normal experience. He probably already had a few degrees by that point, but really wanted to go to college as a typical freshmen to get the whole experience. Spends 4 years as Ben's roommate, but doesn't have take the traditional college classes. When Ben leaves, he leaves. Spends the next couple of years doing research and exploring.

Sue went to college, graduated at 22, and then meets Reed and works for him for a two years, and then gets on the cosmic flight at 24.

Johnny's parents die when he is 12, (and Sue is 20 and in the middle of college). Sue takes care of him for 4 years, and when he is 16 he takes the cosmic flight.

Just all my ideas, and not really going off straight from the comics. If you try and get the comics to match up, you run into too many inconsistencies (Ben and Reed in WWII), so its best to just go off what each person thinks is best.

It's one the reasons why I hate people giving their exact age, or specifically mentioning a year. Those things just tie the characters down.
