I don't understand why Marvel never managed to create a good Blade comic. It's like they didn't even try. Blade could have been Marvel's "Dark Knight."

My guess is that Marvel never seriously envisioned Blade as a top tier hero, and that baffles me. They never made the commitment to put an excellent writer/artist team on the book.
