Reply Subj: The way Dark Reign should really end

A lot of people are speculating about who's gonna end up taking Norman out of power. Some think it'll be old rival Spidey, others think it'll be Iron Man getting revenge or Captain America coming to the rescue again. His "partners" seem like likely candidates too, since they all seem to hate him, judging by his portrayl in Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers. Or he might just end up screwing himself over- it wouldn't be the first time he ruined his career and his reputation just to get his kicks for a few hours flying around on a Goblin glider and blowing people up.

Quite frankly, though, I think the best way for Dark Reign to end would be for Norman to get his comeuppance from his oldest victim: The "Robot Master," Mendel Wardell Stromm. I recently heard that they brought Stromm back in the Penance one-shot, and I wouldn't expect them to bring up such an obscure and forgotten character unless they were planning to use him more in the future. And it would be the one ending practically no one would see coming.

Norman Osborn turns out to have been Mephisto all along.
It's what the Devil himself got out of OMD. Human form and ultimate power over the world from the corruption of character/soul of Peter. One the opposite of Parker. He already has Norman's soul in Hell anyway. Seemed like a good choice. Explains why his cabal of Evil are who they are. The Prince of Lies has promised them their hearts desires when he really wants to corrupt/destroy them.
Doom always fighting him for his mom's soul. Loki, the audacity that the Norse Deity claims to be a prince of lies. Namor, &White Queen...hmm, maybe the souls of endangered species currently like the mutants and the Atlanteans are a delicacy in Hell.
Why Ares is a member of his Avengers. A Lord of the Dead would respect a God of War.
All plausible reasons if this Norman Osborn were really Mephisto.

But alas, all MephistOsborn's schemes and plans are discovered and undone by Earth's heroes, aided by Magneto's daughter, Wanda Maximoff. Whose magicks undo everything Mephisto had done at the end of Civil War. Thus redeeming the Scarlet Witch, as well as earning the title of Earth's newest Sorcerer Supreme. Or first Sorceress Supreme if you will.

(Sure I realize undoing everything means Aunt May would die. But seriously, wouldn't you sacrifice the old goat to abolish OMD/BND?)
