The 2012 secret movie is a Marvel Studios movie, so not any X-Men or Spider-Man movie. It's probably not a movie he already talked about (so not Ant-Man or Dr. Strange). It's also probably not a sequel (so no Iron Man III). It's also probably not a blockbuster. There are lots of options. It could be Runaways, the only announced Marvel Studios movie we haven't heard much about. Could be something related to the Avengers, such as a solo Black Widow, Shield/Fury, Hawkeye, Vision, etc. Could be a movie talked about in the past, like Black Panther, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Namor, etc. I would really like to see a Black Ops Avengers/Shield movie, with characters like Hawkeye, Black Widow, Fury, and the Falcon. Lots of other characters you could use too (Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, AntMan and the Wasp, USAgent, etc). Spin the team out of the Avengers movie. But it's probably not an option for 2012. Less blockbustery type movies might be better for them, since it would require less of a budget, and allows them to have the option of being released anytime of the year. A Werewolf by Night movie could be made for $80M, and be released in the Fall. The upcoming Wolf Man movie probably hurts that character's chances. It might be smart for Marvel to move away from the Avengers franchise for this movie, maybe go with a character like Strange, Namor, or Luke Cage. So if for instance, the audience responds positively to a street level superhero (Cage), you can expand into other street level superheroes like Iron Fist. Marvel probably already has the rights to Blade. It seems that most movie deals only last 5 years, where the studio have 5 years to make a movie or they have to give back the rights. The last Blade movie was in 2004. Elektra was in 2005, meaning Fox has the rights until 2010 unless they renew it. This explains all the talk of a Daredevil revamp. | |||||||
