    Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. And this sure sounds very similar to DC's Books of Magic series done by Neil Gaiman.

    Maybe Marvel hopes it can get 6+ years of ongoing series out of it after the mini, just like Books of Magic did. This is probably a good way to keep the martial arts/mysticism genre alive at Marvel rather than continually failing reboots of the Dr. Strange or Iron Fist or H4H or whatever.
