Well, there was Elric of Melnibone turning up in a couple of Conan issues, with Moorcock's permission.
They also adapted Theodore Sturgeon's "It" and "Killdozer."
2001 and Planet of the Apes are borderline cases, as they were primarily film adaptations but also had a literary existence. In 2001's case, the book an movie were simultaneous projects, of course.
I don't actually know the PD dates for the H.G. Wells and Edgar Rice Burroughs materials Marvel has adapted; was the Barsoom stuff PD in the 1970s when Marvel published a John Carter series?
