    Quote:
That's true, but at least w/ DC's One Year Later you eventually caught up w/ the new status quos and found out what happened in the off year, and they moved on; while Dark Reign is an outgrowth of a completed event arc(Secret Invasion), it's still setting up changes that other titles have to deal with due the nature of Marvel's shared universe.

True, but all the reader needs to know about the Dark Reign backstory is " Norman Osborn is in charge, is still evil ", and Marvel writers can still work within the context without having every story make the characters part of La Resistance. New Avengers and Dark Avengers deal with it because they ARE the Dark Reign story; Avengers: The Initiative might have to acknowledge it, as does Iron Man, but both books have been tied into the status quo in recent memory ( and The Initiative was created out of Civil War ). Mighty Avengers has managed to stay apart from it by smartly having Pym's team get international agency, while I've heard the Hickman FF mini doesn't have that much to do with Norman. Spider-Man has some stories dealing with it and others that don't, and it doesn't look like Captain America's big Reborn story will tie itself to Dark Reign ( beyond maybe Norman appearing in the background, cursing over the heroes' triumphs )...
