Most of the Night Shift was retconned into having frustrated Hollywood ambitions.

    uhm...Brothers Grimm....I can't remember, but special effects?

No. Realty. They discovered the costumes of the original Brothers in a theatre they owned. The original were literally a pair of lifelike mannequins.

    Quote:
Did Danse Macabre want to be an actress?

Dansen Macabre was a stripper. She didn't appear to have any ambitions, except to serve Kali.

    Quote:
I don't remember Gypsy Moth or Digger's ambitions at ALL.

Gypsy Moth/Skein seems to have had no ambitions except fame. When we first meet her, she was out for jealous vengeance on her actor boyfriend. Then later, she tried to start a hedonistic cult centered around herself.

Nowadays, she runs a strip joint.

    Quote:
Did Wonder-Man's villian Splice have a Hollywood background, or just a clever movie name?

Hollywood. He was a struggling actor who gave up work for being a hitman.

Master Pandemonium was an actor and CEO of a movie company.

El Guapo of X-Force was an actor.

The Thing has acted and done the wrestling thing.

The Jester started out as an embittered actor reduced to being a punchline on children's TV.

The Circus of Crime are all entertainers-gone-bad.

The Blob and Mastermind both started out as circus performers.

Unus the Untouchable was originally a popular wrestler.

Destiny (Paul Destine), the villain who gave Namor his post-1950s amnesia, started out as carnival psychic.

Doctor Sax and Johnny Guitar, two one-off Dazzler foes later used in an Initiative Dark Reign story, started out as part of a band.

Ultra-obscure mutant villainess Bora was a failed ballet dancer due to her freakish height; her later partner Spark was a performance artist who turned on an unappreciative public.

On the other end of the spectrum, one-shot Spider-Woman foe Daddy Longlegs became a freak by stealing a variant of the Giant-Man serum because he was too *short* to be a professional dancer.

1950s Marvel Boy villain the Great Video used a stage act as criminal cover after gaining X-ray eyes; he'd started as a scientist.

Laughably awful one-shot Defenders villain Tappin' Tommy was...yeah, a tap dancer.
