In what else in the past couple months has he appeared besides Thanos Imperative, Chaos War, and Fantastic Four? Chaos War is self contained and will straighten itself out by the end of it, so no one should concern themselves with it. It seems to be one of those stories wherein the universe is destroyed and then recreated. Galactus seems to be the same in Thanos Imperative and FF.

Personally I like to think that maybe herc took galactus near the end of thanos initiative when the attention drifted away from the fault and the world he was about to eat was to recharge during battle.

Why?

With all the dead returning and the living going into comas on earth it makes the war of life vs death seem more dire if the dead themselves return to life. If they overlap Thanos Initiative goes from a fairly balanced struggle, to the feel of a war we ALMOST lost... but one that still keeps a heroic feel at the same time. It makes it feel more dire.
