On the other hand, Flash has spent the vast majority of that time as a supporting character, or in limbo. When you think of the vast multitudes of Big Name characters in the Marvel Universe... well, isn't it just a tad surreal that Flash Thompson would be the star with the longest currently running title? \:\-\)

I was mainly just taking an opportunity to plug one of my new favorite comics. \(devil\)

But I confess it is certainly surreal that the book with the highest issue number doesn't feature a hero/villain/whatever from the Silver Age, nor from the Bronze Age, but from the very early Iron Age (Venom first appeared 1988). Yet, as you note, Flash Thompson is from the Silver Age - as early as Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) - so maybe it's more fitting than it seems at first glance. \(cool\)
