One thing I've always wondered about...the races in the Shi'ar ...modified by Celestials or not? The multitude of power sets would seem to imply it but I don't remember anything ever tying the Shi'ar to the Celestials.

I don't think the Shi'ar themselves are. We cannot say for certain about the other species in the empire. Some of the Imperial Guard get their powers from technology or artificial mutation so those powers can be duplicated. A few like Gladiator are natural, but for them it is their entire species. No word yet on whether some are due to Celestials with one strain becoming dominate or not.

For whatever reason I've always assumed the Badoon evolved naturally without Celestial intervention...and were utterly unremarkable as a result.

IIRC, in some of the handbooks it stated the Badoon were one of the oldest races in the universe, but only recently acquires space travel. Their gender wars slowed their development. Yet like you said they are unremarkable. In some timeslines by the 30th century that have established an galaxy-wide empire. It fall apart soon afterwords. They are never the same major power as the Kree or Skrulls.

One thing that has never been delved into to my satisfaction is the Sisterhood of the Badoon. Almost everything we know about the Sisterhood comes from their 31st century alternate history in the GotG timeline.

Personally I liked to see them introduced in the 21st century and be fleshed out. I know in recent years we've seen one or two of the female Badoon running around the 616 universe which if I'm not mistaken is the first time they've shown up since the 1970's. I've always assumed the Sisterhood were smarter than their male brethren but maybe in the 21st century that intelligence masks their own self interest and they aren't yet the enlightened souls we see in the 31st century.
