I might. I'm often unimpressed by the art quality in IDW (or Dynamite or BOOM) comics. But if the art is pretty good, I may give the book a shot.

How about you?

Artwork is all in the eye of the beholder.

many have read what I think of the crummy artwork that is in the Spider books and other Marvel titles.

Conversely the artwork in SOME of the third party companies has been good. Kevin Smith's Bionic Man series had some good art along with the Season 6 of the Six Million Dollar Man. Other books from the third party companies have had at times some atrocious artwork. Some of the Star Wars comics spring to mind.

As to the new ROM, I am curious about it. The main problem I foresee is that it is a nostalgia character now and unless it basically sets fandom on fire right away, ROM will go back into the toybox again.

I can understand why Marvel didnt appear to want to shell out the money to keep/regain the trademark.

The ROM toy was frankly, not one of the all time best sellers. The original comic series ran 75 issues and had a happy ending, despite needing some Deus Ex Machina writing on the part of making ROM human again. The Spaceknights miniseries was a nice followup, but again demand just didn't seem to be there.

So here's to hoping the new ROM universe lasts.

Plus they did away with the mitten hands and gave him fingers so that is a plus already. ;\)

Also on a somewhat scary note, since Transformers, GI JOE and ROM as hasbro properties.....
