Quote:Artwork is all in the eye of the beholder.
Quote:many have read what I think of the crummy artwork that is in the Spider books and other Marvel titles.
True. Marvel and DC sometimes hire artists whose work turns me away from a comic I would otherwise buy, for example the upcoming Cage & Iron Fist.
Quote:Conversely the artwork in SOME of the third party companies has been good. Kevin Smith's Bionic Man series had some good art along with the Season 6 of the Six Million Dollar Man. Other books from the third party companies have had at times some atrocious artwork. Some of the Star Wars comics spring to mind.
Unfortunately, I have looked many times at IDW, Dynamite, and BOOM, and have repeatedly (though not absolutely always) found the art work amateurish compared to the best of Marvel or DC. Not compared to the worst, of course.
Quote:So here's to hoping the new ROM universe lasts.
It would certainly be cool if it did.
Quote:Plus they did away with the mitten hands and gave him fingers so that is a plus already.
I was cool with the mittens.
Also on a somewhat scary note, since Transformers, GI JOE and ROM as hasbro properties.....
And as it turns out, IDW is currently publishing Transformers and GI Joe!
Have those two properties crossed over yet?
Would you like it if ROM crossed over with both of them?
Someone on CBR posited IDW's ROM should fight the Quintessons. I'd be cool with that.
Or I suggested bring more old Hasbro toys for him to fight, like Tendril from Inhumanoids. Plant vs Robot. Nature vs Artificial. Maybe enhance Tendril's Lovecraftian side.
