A few questions about the Eye of Agamotto I couldn't find in the standard wikipedia article or other sources.

    1. The Amulet of Agamatto has been called the "lesser" eye of agamotto. Has anything in the comics ever shown it to be inferior or unable to do something compared to the more famous eye? What makes it lesser?

I'm not certain, but it may be a mixed-up reference to the fact there were/are two eyes of Agamotto - the one Doctor Strange originally wore back in his first years, which was a rectangular affair, and the one which replaced it, the familiar circular design. The rectangular one turned up as a plot-point back in the 1990s Sorceror Supreme series if I recall correctly, and I can't remember whether it was in the possession of Kaalu, The Silver Dagger, or someone else. This amulet may be what you refer to as being the "lesser eye", as the replacement was definitely superior. And neither should be confused with The Orb of Agamotto, which sits in Doctor Strange's top-floor Sanctum study.

    2. The Eye has been described as one of the most powerful conduits for magic on Earth. What exactly does this mean? Can Dr. Strange channel spells through it to make said spells more powerful. Does mere possession or wearing of it make the owner more powerful magic wise so by extension losing it would weaker the power of their spells?

According to what was said at the end of his 81 issue 1980s series and into his 1990s career the various talismans Doctor Strange possesses augment his power simply by virtue of him having possession. So I imagine the eye does give him something yes. Where it's true power comes from though is the fact it is an expression of Agamotto's own power and Agamotto is one-third of The Vishanti, The Vishanti being arguably the most powerful mystical beings in existence, short of Eternity and his fellows.

    3. Does the Eye have fairly consistant abilities or has it served more as a deus ex machine over the years?

It can be a Plot device deus ex machina yes, but generally Doctor Strange uses it as a device to probe mystical and metaphysical problems he is faced with. It has great power obviously, but Strange does not often tap it.

    4. Why is the eye considered so powerful/valuable?

As above - it it a device that comes from, and is powered by, one of The Vishanti.

Doesn;t it allow him to see thru any illusion and see what is the "truth?"
