Opening with the flag game had potential. I assume the intent was to showcase the new characters, their identities and powers and giving reason for a narrator to do an exposition dump on who this team is supposed to be and what they are to represent. Somewhere, this got lost though. Maybe not enough communication between writer and artist? We get a bit of a tease at the powers and some internal conflicts of the team but we don't really get to know the individuals. Other than Britannia, we don't know how long any of them have been heroes or if they are supposed to be well known on their side of the pond. We get more information and focus on Union Jack who is the one character that probably needs it the least, though it kinda ignores that for awhile he was super-powered. If they were going with the sports theme, they could do what televised sports do, with little spotlight scenes highlighting the individuals, their history and stats. Overall, the issue was more of a tease than a story. Almost what passes for the typically sad fare of "Free Comic Book Day". As the game doesn't really accomplish what it should, it takes up too much space in the book and we don't get to the real story until the end.
