Reply Subj: Dave Bautista MCU 'dropped the ball' with Drax

    Quote:
"That would have given me the opportunity to show different sides of Drax, emotionally and physically as well," Bautista continued. "Because, if you notice, Drax, although he looks like a badass, you look at him and he looks terrifying, but Drax gets his ass kicked more than any other Marvel character."

Let's face it, former pro-wrestler Bautista is not the most nuanced of actors with some big range and it's far from clear he could pull it off. His Drax the Destroyer doesn't much resemble the comic book character. Personality-wise he's closest to the dumb version of Drax, who is indeed very powerful, albeit not in a "badass" way. But the lower-powered comic version of Drax more or less got beat up too most of the time too. If you go to the battleboard, you'll see that version of Drax the Destroyer is almost never ever picked in tournaments for a reason.
