I remember when these boards actually had people talking about comics. Where did they all go? Half of the boards are shuttered and the other half rarely have people comment. Are comics really only enjoyed by the 40 and 50 year olds or have the mods driven this site into the ground?

I would say the decline (or apathy) is partially due to the age of readers yes, but also the reality that so much of Marvel and DC's output is not very good.

There is a very clear-to-see reality that both publishers do not make great efforts with many of their key titles. At DC especially the days when a creative team was chosen for its saleability and quality is long gone - I couldn't tell you who is writing or drawing books like Superman, Wonder Woman and The Flash as they are nobody anybody has heard of and aren't delivering any memorable work by which to make themselves memorable.

So Iron Man? I don't care. Captain Marvel? I care even less. The X-Men? It's not for me. And Captain America? Does anyone care anymore?!

And so on it goes....
