I know it's all about money in the end but who wants to see that for like $80 a ticket? I'll tell you this. Any New Yorker (like me) wouldn't go near that. Spidey on stage. What's next Spidey on ice?

Here's my logic. Yes, it might make money with kids who drag their parents there. However, living in the city, there has been a constant flow of real junk on broadway according to avid broadway goers I know. Broadway has really run out of ideas when they start using established characters.

Second, does Marvel really need this. Obviously they must have agreed to this. A few years ago someone tried to bring Titanic, (the largest grosssing movie of all time? or Top five) and it flopped tremendously. The showstopper in that play was supposed to be the sinking of the boat where it descends below the stage. It had all sorts of mechanical problems.

I think anyone who has seen the movie and been awed by the special effects of Spidey swinging around the city might get bored very quickly with a slow moving character on strings (invisible of not) Plays have limitations that movies do not.

Then there is probably the obscene ticket price. Probably $70 for a good seat. Anyone ahnt to take their kids to that when 10.50 (Manhattan prices) gets you into a spectacular which will keep kids glued to the screen. How much could a Spiderman play mesmorize (how the hell do you spell that word?) kids which such a play is essentially for?

Nuff said.
