According to "All the Rage" on Silver Bullet Comics, Dan Slott is leaving "She-Hulk" to pick up something big. Seeing as Mr. Slott has risen through the ranks very quickly at Marvel, and they obviously think very highly of his work (giving him "Avengers: The Initiative" and having him at the recent annual creative summit), coupled with the fact that he is the writer of the FCBD "SM: Swing Shift," I think it's fair to speculuate that he will be the next writer of ASM. Reportedly, the announcement will be made in June at Wizard World in my hometown of Philly.

My reaction (if true): I'm speechless. This is exactly what I've been calling for for months (if not years), and I could not be more excited. Slott was born to write ASM, and I truly believe if he gets the job, he will knock it out of the park. I really hope this happens.

Yeah, but I thought that "Initiative" WAS going to be his new ongoing project.

Slott can do great work--I've said that for a long time--but he needs to focus. When he doesn't, that's when he gets sloppy and slides into the silliness he's occasionally be accused of.

Also, he needs to find a happy medium between the "decompressed" story focuses of some of his contemporaries and the "compressed" style he's focused on in his own work. The best results come from a combination of one-off and ongoing plots, not one or the other.
