> > I am truly amazed that Electro, the Lizard, and Hobgoblin haven’t been used yet. I mean they’re using freaking VENOM – and the symbiotes are the universal code for “we’ve run out of ideas” – in the next movie and yet they haven’t gotten around to any of the classic ones except the big two and Sandman. Granted Electro and the Lizard might be problematic since the movies take place in the same universe as the MTV cartoons.

I like the Rhino but I don’t think you can get a whole movie out of the usual portrayal of him any more than you could the watered-down Byrne version of Sandman. Still, Spidey ought to be able to fight him at some point even if it’s only the end of a fight at the beginning of the movie or the start of one at the end.

They could flesh him out more and make him a barely-employed would-be director, special effects guy, stuntman, actor, or something along those lines. Sure Mysterio is the obvious choice but I could easily see him as a less well-known character like Joe “Just a Guy Named Joe” Smith.

It’s a pity too because – at the very least – there’s potential for a “Chameleon impersonates various people and turns public opinion against Spidey … again” subplot in a movie.

> I think a major problem going into part four will be that part three's trio of villains is going to be a really tough act to follow... I could see them throwing a makeshift Sinister Six out there in attempt to do one better. Maybe have Chameleon or Hobgoblin in the leading manipulator role that Doc Ock had and throw in the gimmick villains Electro, Mysterio, Rhino, Shocker, etc. as muscle.

> Vulture could be a really interesting villain if they kind of played up the "old man Spidey goes soft on" angle like they've used on Black Fox in the comics.

According to the Entertainment Weekly's summer movie preview, the original casting for spidey 3 had Ben Kingsley playing Adrian Toomes/the Vulture in Sandman's place. Now that could be a pretty cool portrayal, and I think a Kingsley vulture, maybe along with the Lizard, could be a pretty cool movie. I'd love to see Electro too though.

Spidey pummeling Gandhi? And I thought this script was supposed to make him a jerk...
