The original murderer from the first Spidey flick was called Nick (or Neil or somethign) Carradine. In the comics (1st Sensational SpM series from the mid 90s) we learn that the burglar who murdered uncle Ben's last name was Carradine.

He's the detective that worked with Spidey throughout Jenkins' Spectacular Spider-Man run... On second thought, it seems a little too obscure to reference in a movie (the obvious name to drop here would have been Jean DeWolfe) and since it's a relatively common name, it could just be a coincidence...
