Reply Subj: It's ok that I don't care about Spidey anymore right?

> Here's the reasons why, but suffice to say when your hero makes a deal with a devil you're stuck with a feeling that he sold out. He's not a hero anymore.

I don't see that as so bad. This is a typical comic storyline. The characters may change but invariably most series has the good guy making a pact with a bad guy so the good guy can save someone he cares about.

I dislike the whole Brand New Day shit too but I think all of you who claim to hate the storyline because of Peter's deal with the devil aren't being honest with yourselves. None of you care that Pete made a deal with Mephisto. You care that he made the deal to save May, a woman who should have died ages ago. I am certain no one would give a crap if Peter made a deal to save his wife or even his best friend Harry or any other member of the supporting cast but because he did it to save his crusty old aunt people seem to think Peter is a monster.

Let's be real. No one cares that Peter sold out to the devil. We only care because of who he chose to save.

How many people dropped Fantastic Four a few years back when Human Torch made a deal with Dr. Doom to save his sister Susan when she was pregnant with Valerie? How many side deals has the Fantastic Four come to over the years when it comes to Doom...they have even returned him to many people died because of that decision?

I think you people who claim to be angry at this deal with the devil are total hypocrites because you have seen this type of plot device so many times but only now do you stop to bitch about it...even if I do agree that the outcome itself is crappy.
