> Spider-Man was written quite well. This was a fish out of water scenario, and him being written as confident or calm would've been out of character. He isn't stone cold like Batman, and he can't just say "Well , I haven't used my ice breath in a while" like Superman can. He's a relatively normal human with powers, and at that young of an age, wasn't that exposed to elements like the KGB.

Completely agree 100%. Good to see some love for this book in this thread. I've always thought it was an under-rated gem of an issue. Both characters were intelligently written, and the differences between them and the worlds they inhabit came across quite well. One of my all time favourite Marvel issues in fact.

HOWEVER, if only Bendis had bothered to get off his behind and read this issue before he decided to have Wolverine 'find out' Spidey's secret idendity in Secret War... Oh right of course. Bendis didn't write Spiderman Vrs Wolverine or the Web of Spiderman follow up. Ergo they didn't count...

Sorry but that's always been a sore point to me. I actually feel it's an even worse example of disregard for continuity than OMD. For all the problems craeted by OMD, at least there was an in story reason for the continuity being messed about. Bendis had no such excuse. Lazy and arrogant writing there IMHO.

LTCBF

its quite possible that he forgot, or may never have read it, but at that point it becomes the editor's fault because they are the ones who manage marvel continuity and should inform the new guys. however, wolvie was drunk and obnoxious, he could have just been bugging spidey on the plane. and bendis is the first guy who made me interested in macendale, who up until that point had been a total loser of a character up until that point. but that's just me.
