Hey gang, time for another SMB Banner competition. Put together a banner using the Spider-Man Universe-related image, or montage of images, that best displays the sentiment of Thanksgiving. One submission per poster, please. Be creative in making it eye-catching! When you have created it, post it as a reply to this post. The deadline for submissions is this Sunday, NOVEMBER 16th at 12:00pm EST. We'll then set up a thread and let board members vote for their choice of banner to replace our current one. Have fun!

Well I was going to the Spider-Man float too, so I had to go with my second idea. I was going to use the "It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a ... Giant Spider-Man Float?".

Last time we did the competition, I believe I lost to PFJ. At least this time I have a 50/50 shot (so far) of winning.

For this banner, I was thinking of also including a Green Goblin on a glider, but it would have been to cluttered. I was also thinking of taking a cover blurb off of the first Doc Ock cover in Amazing, but again, I couldn't find the room to make it fit naturally.

I wanted to incorporate the Spider-Man hand gesture into the Spider-Man hand turkey, but decided against it. I put Doc Ock in just because I could easily duplicate the 8 tentacles in a natural way.

And yes, I realize that Doc Ock only has 4 tentacles, but turkey don't have arms and legs in the traditional way either. Using just the four fingers didn't clearly tell the audience who that person was, so I added four more.

My other idea for a banner was to take a profile headshot of a turkey, and do the classic split Parker/Spider-Man headshot with the spider sense tingling. Except this time draw it on a turkey, so it's a split turkey/split turkey in a spider-man mask. I also had the idea of putting the words "PeTUR ParKEY" in there somehow.
