> > Groan. Not normally negative, but does Marvel really think a $4.99 title a month is a good idea? Didn't mind shelling out the extra on a quarterly basis, but monthly? This might be the first mainstream Spidey title that I won't pick up since I started collecting, and I bought Byrne's Chapter One!
> At the same time, Spider-Girl fans, and, indeed, fans of Spider-Man stories that don't necessarily have much to do with the current continuity, might happily buy this instead of ASM three times a month. Not a bad idea.
I definitely agree, as that's the approach I'm taking, wanting absolutely nothing to do with the current ASM continuity but buying Amazing Spider-Man Family
because of the Mr. and Mrs. Spider-Man
stuff, as well as the stories that J.M. DeMatteis is doing for the title (with more to come, which is awesome). I don't even bother reading the BND part of ASM Family
as it just doesn't interest me in the least.
But, I do think that as a monthly book, the higher price point could very well hurt it. It's not like this sort of book is the highest seller to begin with.
