This just looks like too much like the Byrne reboot era for my tastes but I will give it the benefit of doubt now because Slott is my favourite Spidey writer since the Human Torch mini.
And as much as I hate the art of Ramos, I gotta admit this grey faced Hobgoblin looks just badass. Let's keep on praying that it's Kingsley lifted back to stardom and not a resurrected Macandale or a brand new noname.
      Peace.

It reminds me of the Byrne reboot era, too, but I have less faith than you do because I have none in Slott, who really strikes me as the Howard Mackie of the BND writers--one of the major reasons, in fact, that this feels like the Byrne reboot era.

I don't know - Mackie just couldn't write a proper dialogue even in his prime years (which I consider is before the reboot and after Spider-man 75 - those were good issues) and after the reboot just got horrible cliche with half-baked ideas that just never paid off. (Senator Ward or stalker...my God...what was that?)
Slott writes a pretty funny Spidey imo and tells his stories thoroughly from the beginning to the end. And during this he even manages to clear up other's continuity messes or the glaring plotholes of BND (unmasking/how did Harry return?).
I think now that he got the job all for himself he really gets the chance to prove himself. If it will be as innovately bankrupt as the Mackie/Byrne years I am gonna be the first to admit it. Until then I cross my fingers...
And I won't miss Gale, Wells (greatest disappointment for me), Kelly or the departed Guggenheim. I still hope that Van Lente, Waid and of course the masters Stern and DeMatteis will get a chance in the future to write some more stories.
