Sorry if I'm behind but I just read OMIT and if Mephisto wanted the love of Peter & MJ to be taken away due to them not marrying, isn't them being a couple all this time about the same? This brings up an interesting point, did Pete & MJ have relations while unmarried? I know in today's comics, doesn't raise an eyebrow but Todd McFarlane certainly enjoyed MJ cheesecake in front of Pete once she had his last name.

So my main question is: is it OK for our heroes to have lived in sin during those non-marriage years?

Also, I assume this means the baby is wiped from continuity?

What I find strange is that if Mary Jane and Peter are separated now, why didn't they separate earlier? So you're telling me that this MJ, who is all 'oo, I'm scared and don't want commitment, bwa-bwa' managed to cope with stillborn baby, husband being Clone, several stalkers (Caesar, Stalker-with-a-lollipop, Goldman), Judas Traveller, May dying/comingback/dying/comingbackidentityreveal/death/dying/resurrectiongeneticallymofidiedactress/byebyebyrne/comingback/dying/losingmemory, I AM THE SPIDER!, Nick Katzenberg being a dick, homelessness - several times, the Rose trashing Peter's apartment and forcing them into the woods, and Venom essentially terrifying her in her own apartment. She coped with all this, but Civil Snore could make her crack? You really want me to believe that neither Peter nor MJ have 'played the field' in 5+ years in comic books years, and nobody - not Jason Jerome, Felicia, Puma, anybody - could tempt either from the other? You serious?

OMIT and OMD continue to be the single biggest blight in Spider-History. I continue to be heralded as some kind of fanboyish moron by Quesada and his editorial cronies, and sales continue to drop on my favourite serial fiction - which I now haven't bought a single issue of since The Other, which is by far the longest I have ever gone without a Spidey book (previous was half a year in 2005-6) in my entire life since I was three years old.

Well done, Joe - you let me save up money for IKEA furniture and WWE DVDs. You've made Vince McMahon, Dixie Carter and Ingvar Kamprad happy people.

-Jeremiah Ecks,
who is still surprised to this day that Joe cannot admit he's wrong.
