According to this article, Alpha's getting his own miniseries. And he IS involved in Amazing 700 somehow:

USA Today further notes that Alpha's relationship with Spider-Man will change in "Amazing Spider-Man" #700, the final issue of the series that leads in to "Superior Spider-Man" #1 in January. Fialkov and Plati's miniseries spins directly out of the events of "Amazing" #700.

Though Spider-Man is pretty irreparable to me at this point with Joe Q and friends at the helm, I actually really enjoyed learning about and seeing some of the content of Alpha. It was just fun and I was excited to look for what happened next. I enjoy reading about a new hero/villain being formed the most and this was a pretty interesting take on a different kind of character getting powers. Although there seems to be a backlash in the sense that it makes the whole hero universe look like a joke. Some kid randomly gets powers that put him in a new category of hero's, it reminds me of the third X-men movie and a little bit of dragonballz. It seems to make lite of the whole marvel universe of hero's and though it's fun and interesting to me, I'm not sure if it was worth it. I mean frankly at this point in my eye's they have nothing to loose, but if I was actually as into it as I once was and was still buying, I'd be upset and rolling my eye's. But we've seen so much worse that this doesn't even move the scale. It all feels like a big joke since even before OMD.
