This entire story is a purely underwhelming nostalgic trip back to the days of the Micronauts, or at least the trademarks from Micronauts that Marvel owns so they don't need to pay out money to reclaim the others.

Hence no Acroyear or Baron Karza. The microverse, macroverse, prometheus pit, body banks, arcturus rann, marionette, bug all harken back to the micronauts era.

And since this is a microscopic universe, I suppose it makes sense that the symbiotes would be seen as a disease.

As to Flare calming Venom, back in the Micronauts series there was a similar character named Fireflyte(I'm guessing the name is trademarked to someone else now) that would use their song to calm another Micronaut named Devil. After she was lost in battle, Devil slowly went berzerk until being fatally wounded and then morphed into a chrysalis and emerged as a Fireflyte who would later be killed and regenerate into another Devil who later would regenerate into a Fireflyte and so on.........

I have been enjoying the Scarlet Spider comics thusfar, but #10 and 11 have been pretty lame in my opinion. For one thing, I didn't have Venom on my pull list at my friendly neighborhood comic book store so I am missing half of the story. Also as soon as anything has to do with outer space and parallel universes (or microuniverses in this case) I tend to get really bored. I like comics that are more grounded in reality. I also feel like the battles are not conveyed very well through the art. I hope this story arc is over soon.
